In this course students will learn how to develop a theory of their case, how to prepare and present opening statements, examinations-in-chief, cross-examinations, and closing arguments. They will learn the advocacy techniques that are needed when appearing as paralegals in small claims court, traffic court, summary conviction court and tribunals such as Residential Tenancies. An overview of courtroom procedure and etiquette, interviewing witnesses, and submissions as to costs are also covered.
