The Legal Research module emphasizes practical approaches to legal research, fact investigation and memorandum writing. It takes a practice-oriented approach to research with the emphasis on practical problem solving, efficient research techniques and effective communication of results.

The research process begins at a point in the file just after the initial client interview. The process starts with the development of a case theory, then planning and organizing a research strategy, followed by the discussion and practice of library research techniques, and finally communicating the research efforts in a legal memorandum.
